📜 Description:

The Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) International Office Advocacy Unit is dedicated to supporting forcibly displaced people, advocating for their rights, and working toward sustainable solutions.

As a volunteer, you will collaborate closely with the Head of the Advocacy Unit, actively participating in:
🔹 Updating & improving JRS’s capacity-building materials 📚
🔹 Assisting in organizing high-impact meetings & workshops 🏛️
🔹 Contributing to JRS’s global advocacy strategy 🌍

💡 This volunteering opportunity is ideal for someone passionate about human rights, advocacy, and migration policies. You’ll be part of a diverse & multicultural team, working toward real change for refugees & displaced communities worldwide.

🛎️ Volunteer Service Details:
✅ 1 volunteer position available in the ADVOCACY UNIT 🏛️
✅ Duration: 10 months
✅ Start Date: 21st January 2025
✅ Rolling applications accepted until June 2027

🏠 Accommodation, Food & Transport:

💰 JRS-Europe provides:
✔️ Monthly pocket money to cover personal expenses 💵

🧑‍💻 Participant Profile – Is This You?

✔️ Age: Between 18-29 years old (must sign the volunteer agreement before turning 30)
✔️ Residency: Must be based in Belgium 🇧🇪 at the time of application
✔️ Language Requirements:
✅ English proficiency required (written & spoken)
✅ Other European languages are a plus! 🗣️

✔️ Preferred Skills & Experience:
✅ Experience in E-learning content production (an asset) 🎥📚
✅ Studies or interest in migration & refugee-related fields 🌍🏛️
✅ Strong organizational skills & a sense of initiative 📅
✅ Ability to adapt & collaborate in a multicultural team 🌏
✅ Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 is beneficial 💻
✅ Excellent interpersonal & teamwork skills 🤝
