The UAL Foundation and Pre-degree £7,000 International Scholarship is designed to financially assist international students with outstanding academic potential. The scholarship provides a tuition fee waiver of £7,000 per year for the entire duration of their studies, covering both pre-degree and undergraduate levels at UAL.
Successful applicants will automatically receive continued funding upon progression to undergraduate study, provided they meet academic requirements each year. This scholarship aims to make education at UAL more accessible for talented students from around the world, ensuring financial barriers do not hinder their creative and academic pursuits.

Eligibility: To qualify for the UAL Foundation and Pre-degree £7,000 International Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Course Offer:
- Must hold an unconditional or conditional offer for a full-time Foundation or Pre-degree course at UAL starting in 2025/26.
- Fee Status:
- Must be classified under the Overseas tuition fee category.
- Academic Excellence:
- Must have achieved, or be predicted to achieve, high academic grades equivalent to:
- 112 UCAS tariff points
- A Levels at BBC
- International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma with 32 points
- Recognized international high school qualifications will also be considered. Applicants can verify their qualifications using Ecctis or the UCAS tariff calculator.
- Applicants must provide academic transcripts or, if awaiting results, proof of predicted grades.
- Must have achieved, or be predicted to achieve, high academic grades equivalent to:
- Personal Statement: Applicants must submit a personal statement (maximum 350 words per question) responding to the following:
- Describe your background and academic strengths.
- Explain how receiving this scholarship will impact your pre-degree and undergraduate studies at UAL.
- Discuss how you intend to use your qualification to support your future career plans.
- Confirm any additional sources of funding you have or have applied for to cover the cost of your studies in the UK.
- Scholarship Continuation:
- The scholarship is valid for the full duration of pre-degree and undergraduate studies, but students must successfully complete each academic year to continue receiving funding.
- If a student’s fee status changes between pre-degree and undergraduate study, they will no longer be eligible for the scholarship.
Application Process:
- Receive an Offer:
- Applicants must first secure an offer for a full-time Foundation or Pre-degree course at UAL.
- Scholarship Application:
- Once an offer is received, the ‘My Finance and Funding’ tab in the UAL Applicant Portal will be updated with scholarship application forms.
- Complete and Submit Application:
- Ensure all necessary documents, including academic transcripts and the personal statement, are provided before the deadline of May 21, 2025.
- Decision Notification:
- Applicants will receive an email notification regarding the outcome of their application by late June 2025.
Receiving the Scholarship:
- If successful, applicants will be sent an award letter via email.
- They must accept the scholarship offer through their UAL Applicant Portal.
- The tuition fee waiver will be automatically applied to the student’s tuition fees each academic year.
Additional Information:
- Scholarships are awarded based on the decision of a UAL selection panel.
- If an applicant is awarded multiple scholarships, they must choose only one to accept.
- Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
