Are you an active and enthusiastic person aged between 15 and 25, fluent in English and residing in the EU or in one of the Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries – Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova or Ukraine? Are you interested in EU affairs and would like to engage in dialogue-driven activities and events in the EaP countries and the EU? If so, the EU OPEN Neighbourhood Programme (EU Neighbours East project) invites you to participate in the ‘Young European Ambassadors’ (YEAs) initiative that will take place in the six EaP countries from September 2016 onward. The YEA network will connect at least 100 young people from all over Europe.
The ‘Young European Ambassadors’ initiative is part of the ‘Young European Neighbours’ youth network. It takes place in the framework of the EU-funded OPEN Neighbourhood “Communicating for a Stronger Partnership: Connecting with citizens across the Eastern Neighbourhood” (EU Neighbours East) Project, which is implemented by an Ecorys-led consortium.
The ‘Young European Ambassadors’ initiative is at its early stage. Further communication will follow on its organisation, the selection of participants and the conduct of activities and events. The EU OPEN Neighbourhood programme reserves the right to select participants and offer them the opportunity to participate in activities and events, which it cannot guarantee.
Eligibility:
In order to be considered eligible to apply, you must fulfill all of the following criteria:
- You must be a citizen of one of the EU Member States or one of the six EaP countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine) to be eligible.
- You must be between 15 and 25 years old to be eligible.
- You must be a fluent English speaker to be eligible.
Costs:
- No participation fees are required!
Application:
The network consists of people aged 15-25 from the EaP countries and from the EU. They will have the opportunity to regularly exchange information and views on Europe (culture, values, current issues,…) as well as to engage in dialogue-driven activities and events in the EaP countries and/or the EU.
They will be guided and supported by two Network Coordinators who will regularly travel in Europe. Easy communication platforms will be put in place to facilitate exchanges, regular Young European Ambassadors missions will be prepared, contests will be organised, and more! English will be the main language of use for the YEAs, but knowledge of local languages will be an asset.
