Who Can Participate?
This training course is designed for youth workers, trainers, educators, teachers, and anyone involved in working with young people. Participants should have a connection to the world of cinema or visual arts, whether it’s a personal passion for films, academic training in filmmaking, or using cinema as a tool for working with youth.

This course is ideal for those who wish to:

  • Use cinema to raise awareness about pressing issues such as discrimination, prejudice, stereotypes, and social inclusion.
  • Enhance their youth work skills.
  • Explore non-formal education techniques.

Formal Requirements
Participants must be 18 years or older and come from one of the following countries:

  • Cyprus
  • Estonia
  • Italy
  • Poland
  • Portugal

Learning Objectives

  • Learn how film and visual storytelling can be used as educational tools to combat discrimination, promote empathy, and encourage dialogue by incorporating diverse perspectives and creative approaches.
  • Raise Awareness about discrimination, prejudice, stereotypes, and social inclusion, while building the competencies of youth workers in these areas.
  • Develop Filmmaking Skills to empower youth workers with the tools and materials needed to build trust and competence in using multimedia tools, especially cinema, to promote key societal values.

Trainers

  • Michał Bisiorek is a filmmaker, video editor, content creator, and social media specialist at Polish radio station ‘Radio 357’. He has been part of various Erasmus projects, including Erasmus Student Network and Erasmus+ Youth Exchange, and volunteers at local TV station ‘Offener Kanal’ in Magdeburg. He also hosts the podcast “BeKwadrat” about music and culture.
  • Jerry Jachowicz is a filmmaker, psychology graduate, and trainer. He has directed several short films, participated in film festivals, and led filmmaking workshops across Poland. Jerry has also worked as a filmmaking instructor in the USA and currently conducts mental health workshops for youth, using his background in clinical psychology. He has also participated in Erasmus+ projects in Spain, France, and Portugal.
  • Franek Porayski-Pomsta has been involved in multiple Erasmus projects, including university exchanges and volunteering. He has worked in alternative education at CEMEA in France and is pursuing a master’s degree in interdisciplinary humanities studies at Warsaw University. His research focuses on cultural studies and Polish romantic comedies.
  • Katka Schrager is an experienced trainer and teacher specializing in Non-Formal Education. She holds a master’s degree in general education and additional diplomas in biology, natural sciences, English didactics, and pedagogical therapy. Katka currently works at an alternative school in Warsaw and has written and implemented various Erasmus+ projects across Europe. She is pursuing a PhD focused on Non-Formal Education and raising awareness against discrimination.

Host Organization
CreActive is a non-governmental, non-profit organization that aims to support youth and youth workers by helping them engage actively in local communities. The organization promotes the benefits of non-formal education and works with creative methods like arts, music, and photography. It seeks to encourage youth to explore democracy, culture, healthy living, intercultural communication, volunteering, and arts to become aware European citizens.

Accommodation
Participants will stay, eat, and learn at the Sabat Bełk Agrotouristic Guest House (Bełk 101, 28-313 Imielno), located near Pińczów, in the heart of the Świętokrzyskie region of Poland. The accommodation is not a hotel, but an agrotouristic guest house, with rooms for 2-3 people and shared bathrooms, or huts for 4-5 people.

Travel
Travel expenses will be reimbursed according to the Erasmus+ funding rules:

  • Poland (green travel): 25 EUR
  • Cyprus: 395 EUR
  • Estonia: 309 EUR
  • Italy: 309 EUR
  • Portugal: 395 EUR

Participants will be picked up from the Main Bus Station in Pińczów (Legionistów 26 street) at 6:00 PM on August 18, 2025. On the last day, August 25, 2025, participants will be returned to the Main Bus Station in Pińczów around 9:00-9:30 AM.

Please ensure your travel arrangements match these timings. Traveling to the accommodation independently is not possible due to the lack of public transport to the site.

Travel Tips
For those traveling from Warsaw: Take a train from the Central Train Station to Kielce, then catch a mini-bus to Pińczów.
From Kraków: Take a mini-bus from the MDA bus station to Pińczów.
From Katowice: Take a mini-bus from the International bus station to Pińczów.

Pińczów
Pińczów is a historic town in southern Poland, in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, with city rights granted in 1428. It lies in the Lesser Poland province, near the Nida River. Attractions include the 18th-century Wielopolski family palace, several churches and monasteries, the Renaissance St. Anne’s Chapel, and a restored synagogue.

Share your country’s unique culture with other participants! Bring along videos, photos, stories, food specialties, music, or anything that represents your country’s history or traditions. Whether it’s a funny anecdote, a traditional dish, or even a creative performance, everyone is encouraged to showcase what makes their culture special.
